African Roots of Lindy Hop
As introducing in the text about Afro Swing, roots from an African heritage can be found on the development of Jazz music, Jazz dance and Lindy Hop. The slaves took with them a heritage of rhythms and percussion, of singing and dancing about their daily lives and calling and responding as communal emotional expression. These roots can be found through African American art history though working songs, spirituals, blues, jazz and Lindy Hop.
